Southlander (2003 in film) is an American independent film by Steven Hanft and Ross Harris.
Originally highborn Recycler after the Los Angeles magazine of a same title, a filmwriters changed the title of the flick—& the central plot device—to Southlander to stay away from trademark issues.
Synopsis
Down-&-out keyboardist Risk (Rory Cochrane) sees redemption within touring sustaining dub-pop band Future Pigeon, fronted by the lovely Rocket (Beth Orton). However to produce the band, he needs a signature healthy—which he finds in the futurist '69 "Molotron" keyboard. Risk's dreams come fictive hang on to on a eve of the tour, while the Molotron is swiped from either his car. Southlander follows Risk & his friend Ross Angeles (Ross Harris) as it run the purloined keyboard through the places of the Southlander, a local rag that publishes classified ads for musical devices. the journeying quickly turns into a surreal hike across LA's underground music scene.
